Estelle Woodward
Brooklyn based choreographer and performer Estelle Woodward received her Master of Fine Arts from Bennington College, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts. As a freelance dance artist Woodward facilitates workshop sessions for musicians and dancers, performs her solo and group work regularly in New York City and the surrounding area, and works to foster opportunities for creative exchange in the improvisation community. She has performed with Clyde Forth Visual Theater, Trajal Harrell Dance Style, Mark Dendy Dance and Theater, Joyce Lim, Maureen Flemming and The Ensemble Project directed by Katherine Ferrier. Since 1999 Estelle has been working with LOOPHOLE, a collaborative ensemble of composers and choreographers. Recent performances include The Chocolate Factory, Roulette, the Vision Collaborations Festival, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, South Kensington Forum, and Chez Bushwick, among others. Estelle is a co-Founder and Artistic Director of Improvised and Otherwise: A Festival of Sound and Form, an annual event for experimental and improvised music and dance in Brooklyn, NY.
Upcoming performances include an appearance at the Vision Collaborations Festival on December 14, 2006 and the premiere of an evening length collaboration with Jeff Arnal at The Chocolate Factory, February 23-25, 2007. For details visit the Generate Records Events page...
